Here’s another book review! I bought this book at a local Barnes and Noble quite awhile ago. It just sat on my overflowing bookcase for quite a long time until I decided to read it. This particular book is not the original edition. This book is a rewritten Young Readers edition. Written with a bit of a different ending, shorter length, and more appropriate for a younger audience, you can tell this book has been altered quite a bit though the characters are the same.
Pay It Forward starts out with a brand new Vietnam veteran teacher coming to twelve year old Trevor’s school and giving an Extra Credit assignment. The assignment was to “Think Of An Idea For World Change and Put it Into Action. That’s a huge assignment for a group of twelve year olds, but Trevor takes on the assignment. His idea is to pay it forward. I won’t give too much away but Reuben St. Clair, a elderly neighbor, and a few other normal citizens are a big part of this story. It’s such an amazing story that kept me clinging to each and every page. The ending is quite a cliff hanger. There’s no exact answer to a couple of my questions and no sequel. I guess the point is for you to really think about what could have happened.

Recommended age group: 8-12 but I am a bit older than that and enjoyed it.
Star Rating: 5 stars
Why?: This is an amazing story that makes you feel close to all of the characters.
I strongly recommend this particular edition to younger readers. If you are a bit older or an adult, there is the original version written for people like you!
