Sharon Chreech is one of my many favorite authors. To me, this quite means that you never know how important something is until it’s gone. People in this part of the work where I live take advantage of way too much. People in less fortunate areas don’t take anything for granted. Sharon Chreech has lots of amazing quotes but this one stood out the most to me.

I nominate:

And anyone else who wishes to participate!

That’s a wrap! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more!

This is a super quick post before I go tackle my homework (bleh). Today Random Reads reached 500 likes! I can’t believe how amazing my followers and viewers are. In just 53 days or so (I checked ;D) I was posting about reaching 102 likes. Thank you so much everyone! I can’t begin to explain how much your views, likes, and comments mean to me. I do not make money from this. Random Reads is for pure enjoyment. Without all of you, this blog wouldn’t be where it is today!

This is an amazing quote from Suzanne Collins, the author of the Hunger Games series. This is such a powerful quote. Everyone has had that moment where they just want to freeze the moment. It could be when they met the love of their life. Their first kiss. Birth of child. Wedding. Whatever the moment is, everyone has had that feeling of wishing to freeze the moment and live it forever.

When did you have this feeling? Comment below!

I nominate:

Everyone!

Shel Silverstein is such an amazing writer! Even as a teenager, I still  love his poems. When I saw this quote, it reminded me of both books and life. When books end, I`m normally sad especially if it was a good book. When life ends people are sad and upset. That`s why we need a happy middle and a very happy start 🙂

What I’m Reading Wednesday’s!

Hello everyone! It’s time for another What I’m Reading Wednesday’s. This week’s books were recently finished no more than a week ago. If you’re unfamiliar with this weekly event, check out the link here.

The first book is called “Down the Mysterly River” by Bill Willingham.

image

Summary:

Max “the Wolf” is a top-notch Boy Scout, an expert at orienteering, and a master at being prepared. It’s a little odd when he suddenly finds himself, with no memories of the recent or distant past and lost in unfamiliar woods. What’s even odder still, is that he meets a Badger named Banderbrock, a black bear named Walden, and McTavish the Monster (who might be a old barn cat.) All of them talk and are as clueless and confused as Max. Before long, Max and his newfound friends run into a group of hunters and their deadly hounds. Known as the Blue Cutters, these hunters are armed with powerful blue swords. They capture and alter the chosen victim to who they want to be. For a purpose that Max and his friends can’t figure out. Unless he can solve the mystery of the strange forested world he’s landed in, Max may find himself and his friends changed beyond recognizion.

Author Facts:

The second book is called Vet Volunteers New Beginnings by Laurie Halse Anderson. Since this is the 13th book in the series, I have decided a while ago that I won’t be doing author facts for Laurie. Instead I will do Hometown Facts.

image

Summary:

Jules and Josh are twins who moved from Pittsburgh and what to join Dr. Mac’s Vet Volunteers. The trouble is, when they arrived at their new school, Jules got off on the wrong foot with Maggie, Dr. Mac’s granddaughter. Even worse? Jules adopts the Science class rabbit, but it’s chewing up everything in sight! Is there any chance for the twins to become Vet Volunteers?

Get In The Know: September 2015

It’s time for the monthly “Get in The Know” Newsletter for September 2015. This newsletter was created last month and is used to update and inform you guys (viewers and followers) on what’s going on and will be going on on my blog.

– Random Reads is now at 79 followers!

Thank you so much guys! I can’t believe how far this blog has gotten in such a short amount of time.

– This blog has been going for 4 months now (or 3 depending how you look at it.)

On June 23rd 2015, Random Reads (Originally Readersandmore) started. It was all inspired by Genie Wishes written by Elisabeth Daul. I highly recommend it!

– So far, Random Reads has gotten 170 views in this month alone.

Wow! 170 views is a lot for just this month!

-I recently posted my 90th post.

Time has really flown! It seems like just yesterday that I was posting my very first post. Now I am at 94 posts as of now.

– I have been participating in Writing 101 and Blogging 201.

These are both great courses hosted by WordPress or more specifically, Daily Post. I’m pretty behind on th tasks for both of these so you will be seeing more of these very soon. I encourage you to sign up for either Blogging 101, Blogging 201, or Writing 101. Blogging 101 and 201 can not be taken at the same time.

– So far this year, people from the United States alone have viewed this blog 420 times.

United States has the top views but people in everywhere from the U.S. to Australia and in between have been viewing my posts. It’s hard to believe that people from all over the world have been viewing and enjoying my content.

– New Schedule Update

My new school year schedule went effective August 31st. If you would like to see the full schedule, check out the link here. So far, the schedule has been fairly effective. I sometimes go outside the schedule lines, but otherwise all is well. Nothing can fix the fact that sometimes I have to post later at night or schedule a post for 8 AM. Life is busy.

– According to the Posts and Pages stats, you guys love Awards and Challenges.

I will be doing the 3 Days 3 Quotes Challenge for the 3rd time pretty soon. I also have an always growing list of other Tags, Challenges and Awards to get through. Stay tuned for those!

That’s about all! This month and the end of August has been pretty eventful and productive. Let me know in the comments what you think of the Monthly Newsletter and if I need to do anything to make it more interesting and fun. I’ll take any suggestions and ideas into consideration.

Thanks for reading and Stay tuned for next month’s edition of “Get in The Know.”

Creative Challenges: At This Moment…

Hey everyone! Time for Creative Challenge #2! If you are unfamiliar with this twice weekly event then here’s the run down: Creative Challenges is a weekly event that happens every Tuesday and Friday. One of them is for everyone, and the other is for email subscribers only. The amazing Cynthia Dawn runs this event. She sends out these creative challenges by email or on her blog. She sends out a prompt and all you have to do is take the prompt and write a story either based off of a personal experience or as I do, with a fictional character.

Prompt #2: This moment something is going to happen. You’re waiting for it. What is it?

My Story:

Leo Wallis feels a laugh ripple through him. He’s sitting with his girlfriend Rylee. There both 22 and have so much in common. That must be why they’ve been dating for 2 years and spending time together even longer. That’s why he knows this is the moment. His heart skips a beat and he can feel his palms sweating. He’s so excited but nervous at the same time. “Will she say yes?” Is flying through his mind over and over again. Leo pauses and takes a moment to take in the scene. He doesn’t ever want to forget this moment. They’re at their favorite park. A baby is crying in the distance. A kid runs by laughing as his father chases him. A group of teenage girls sit and gossip at a group of tables across the path. So much is going on but for Leo, the world is frozen. It’s time. The whole world is waiting and he’s ready. He slowly pulls the ring box out of his pocket. Rylee looks his way and suddenly tears start to well up in his eyes. He can see him spending the rest of his life with her. He gets down on one knee and says “Rylee.. Will you Marry me?” Suddenly the world comes to a stop. The baby stops crying, the kid stops, the teenagers are smiling their way. Everything is perfect.

YES! YES!” Rylee screams with joy. Leo hugs her and hears applause erupt around them. Tears run down their cheeks. Leo will never forget this moment. Neither will Rylee Wallis.

Writing 101 Day #5: Twitter Inspiration

Hello everyone! Today I will be doing Day 5 of Writing 101. If you are unfamiliar with this 4 week course, then I suggest that you check out the link here. I am currently trying to catch up on my Writing 101. These were sent out a while ago. Today’s objective is to take a Twitter quote post from the ones that have been provided and respond to it.

My chosen Twitter quote:

image

My response: I 100% agree with this quote from Lev Grossman. I am still trying to get a novel started but can’t get enough motivation to start. Novelists have the hardest time with writing in my opinion. Not because they are terrible with it, but because they have to deal with, think about, and write it all the time. Writers have to put a lot more thought into what they are writing and/or typing then others. There obviously is some exceptions to this opinion but for the most part it’s true! Every good novelist struggles with writing and then succeeds. Nobody is perfect at first. That’s why it takes years to write an incredible novel.

What do you think about this quote? Do you agree or disagree? Tell me what you think and why below!

Thanks for reading and Stay tuned for more!
