Hello everyone. Happy Thursday! Thank goodness it’s almost Friday. Since you guys seemed to enjoy my Ode to Fiction poem, I have decided to share another one. This one is slightly shorter and was written last school year. Let me know if you would like to see more original poems.
Books
Books bring me into a whole new world
Far away from reality.
No matter how I am feeling
The characters instantly express feelings and actions.
That help me fill their shoes for a few days or a week.
I see how people live in different situations
Past, present, or future.
The minute I open a book
It acts as a teleporter
Putting me with Greg Heffley, Hazel Grace, and so many
more.
Some prefer ebooks but enjoy the real deal.
Sitting in my bed with a good book sends a rush of joy
Through my body like a lightning strike.
The key to any time while still being home before dinner.
The Library becomes your home away from home.
Books waiting to be opened and read over and over
Waiting for your affection and attention
Won’t you come read with me?
Come, take a seat
We might be here for a while
Or rather somewhere else.
Off near or far.
With my books as my key and my imagination at hand.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more!
