Hey everyone! It’s Tuesday and that means more testing at school. It also means it’s time for Top Ten Tuesday! This weekly meme is hosted by the amazing people at The Broke and the Bookish. You can go to their page to learn more about them and see the topics for the coming weeks. This week’s topic is:
Ten Childhood Characters You’d Love To Revisit As Adults (ie a novella or something to see what they grew up to be) — you could always just pick YA characters you’ve read recently you wouldn’t mind revisiting in 10 years or so. Or you could pick 10 characters and guess what you think they’d be doing in 10 years or 20 years. OR you could go the other way and wish for coming of age stories for adult characters you love.
I’m going to do a simple one and do Ten Book Characters I’d Love To See Grown Up.
Ten Childhood Book Characters I’d Love To See Grown Up.
- Ramona from the Ramona series by Beverly Cleary.
I know I’ve talked about Beverly Cleary and Ramona a lot lately. Beverly Cleary was one of my favorite childhood authors. Ramona was a very hyper and funny character. I’d love to see what she ends up doing as an adult.
2. Junie B Jones from the Junie B Jones series by Barbara Park.
This was another favorite childhood character. Junie B went on crazy adventures and had lots of fun. She was a kinder gardener and 1st grader so I would love to see her as a teenager. I’m sure she would go on even more adventures 🙂
3. Charlie from Charlie in the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.
Charlie was one lucky little boy. He got to go to Willy Wonkas Chocolate Factory. I’d love to see what he gets to do as a teenager and adult.
4. Quentin and Margo from Paper Towns by John Green.
Quentin and Margo had such fantastic adventures. I’d love to see what they’d do as adults and (SLIGHT SPOILER) if they meet up again.
5. Jack and Annie from the Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne.
I used to love these books. Jack and Annie went on fantastic adventures. As adults, I’m sure they would continue to make discoveries about the past.
6. Matilda from Matilda by Roald Dahl.
Matilda is definitely one of my favorite characters. She taught herself to read as an infant and outsmarted her snotty parents. I’d love to see what she ends up doing as a teenager and adult. I’m sure she’d become an author, mathematician, or scientist.
7. Judy Moody from the Judy Moody series by
Judy Moody loved to go on crazy adventures with her friends and brother Stink. I’m sure Judy would continue to go on adventures as an adult.
8. Brother and Sister Bear from the Berenstain Bears series by Stan and Jan Berenstain.
This is a picture book series but I loved it so much. I loved reading about Brother and Sister Bear and their adventures. There were also life lessons so it was very educational XD I’m sure Brother and Sister Bear would be going on even more adventures as teens and adults.
9) Greg from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney.
Greg always seemed to have a tough time with his family and friend Rowley. Oh and love too. I’d love to see what he does as an adult.
10. Amber Brown from the Amber Brown series by Paula Danziger.
Amber Brown was a fantastic character. She was so relate able and had so many fun adventures. The author of her books passed away in 2004, so there wouldn’t be any books of Amber as a teen. I’d still love to some how see her as a teenager.
