Book Traveling Thursday (#41)|Yellow

Hey everyone! It’s been months since I’ve posted. I guess this blog got pushed to the back burner. As a side note, on June 23rd, it was my blog’s 2 year anniversary. That’s definitely something to celebrate. Today I’m jumping back in with a Book Traveling Thursday! This wonderful weekly meme is hosted by Cátia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much. To find out more information, future themes and more, go to the meme’s Goodreads group here. Go check her out for a constant book blog. This week’s theme is:

Choose a book that has originally a yellow cover.

This should’ve been simple and straight forward but sadly it wasn’t. I finally settled on a book that I haven’t even read. That book is The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider.

Original Cover/Cover From My Country:

The Beginning of Everything

Favorite Cover(s):

Cœurs brisés, tête coupéesFrench

This book has two titles, the second one being Severed Heads, Broken Hearts. That’s what this apparently translates to.

The Beginning of Everything - Awal SegalanyaIndonesian

Least Favorite Cover(s):

NONE 😀

That’s a wrap! I love the covers for this book! What is your favorite cover? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more blog posts!

Most of the covers are a variation of the original. They’re all my favorites.

This cover is so colorful and unique. It really stands out.

Here’s to different worlds… Choose a book set in a fictional world.

This theme actually made me smile. I only read fiction so this is literally every book I’ve read. I have decided to do Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy. This is one of the many reviews I need to do eventually. Let’s get started!

Original Cover/Cover From My Country (US):

Side Effects May Vary

There isn’t very many covers for this book. My favorite cover is the original one. It’s very simple yet eye-catching.

Least Favorite Cover:

Amore e altri effetti collateraliItalian

I just had to single Italy out this week. The cover has a random person on it which is one of my book pet peeves. This was the only cover that was different from the original.

That’s a wrap! I apologize for the lack of covers this week. What book would you have chosen for this theme? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more Book Traveling Thursdays!!

Book Traveling Thursday (#38)|New Year

Hey everyone! It’s time for the 38th Book Traveling Thursday! This weekly meme is hosted by the wonderful Cátia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much. Go check her blog out for all things bookish. To find out more information, future themes and more, go visit the meme’s Goodreads group here. This is the first BTT of 2017. This week’s theme is centered around new beginnings.

New beginnings… Choose a book you would like to read for the first time again.

There is so many books that I’ve already done that would be perfect for this. I have decided to do To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. I’d love to be introduced to the characters all over again. I am absolutely in love with Jenny Han’s two books in the series.

Original/Cover From My Country (US):

To All the Boys I've Loved Before (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #1)

Favorite Cover(s):

Những chàng trai năm ấy (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #1)Vietnamese

Besides the original, this was the only different looking cover I enjoyed. Props to the creators of the Vietnamese cover!!

Least Favorite Cover(s):

Do wszystkich chłopców, których kochałam (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #1)Polish

This was the only cover I didn’t particularly like. It just doesn’t fit the book. Sorry Poland.

That’s a wrap! I thought this book would have a ton of covers. Most of them looked pretty similar to the original. These were the only two that didn’t. Hopefully the covers will be more diverse next week! What book would you read for the first time again?

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more Book Traveling Thursday!!

Book Traveling Thursday (#37)|2017

Hey everyone! It’s the final Book Traveling Thursday of 2016. It’s also the final weekly meme related post of the year. Book Traveling Thursday is a weekly meme hosted by Cátia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much  and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. Danielle has been inactive since last year so technically it’s just Cátia manning this ship alone. Kudos to her! To find out more information, future themes and more, go visit the meme’s Goodreads group here. This last theme is one that looks ahead to the New Year.

2016 is coming to an end… Choose a book you want to read in 2017!

I have decided to do a book that will be released next year. It’s called The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli.

Original/Cover From My Country (US)/Favorite Cover:

The Upside of Unrequited

This is the only cover this week. Since this book isn’t even released yet, there isn’t any other covers. That’s also why there is no least favorites. I love the cover and can’t wait to read this when it comes out April 11th.

That’s a wrap! Sorry, this post wasn’t very exciting. What books are on your TBR for 2017? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and see you next year with more weekly meme posts!

Book Traveling Thursday (#36)|Christmas!

This wonderful weekly meme is hosted by Cátia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. To find out more info about the meme, future themes and more, visit the meme’s Goodreads group here. This week’s theme is:

It’s Christmas Time!! Choose a book that makes you think about Christmas. (If you don’t celebrate Christmas you can choose a book that features any other festivity)

I decided to pick a classic picture book since I couldn’t think of any YA books. I chose How The Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss.

Original/Cover From My Country (US):

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Favorite Cover(s):

Comment le Grinch A Vole Noel (French Edition)French

Il GrinchItalian

Le GrinchFrench

Most of the covers were like the original so there’s slim pickings for this one. France knew what they were doing with this one. My favorite is the movie one because of how it shows the movie Grinch and that’s it. No extra pictures or anything that has nothing to do with the story.

Least Favorite Cover(s):

Cum a furat Grinch Crăciunul

Every cover like this one that’s just like the original. The only different is the language. Use a little imagination!

That’s a wrap! The covers were not never diverse this week. What’s your favorite Christmas story? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more Book Traveling Thursday!

Book Traveling Thursday (#35)|Spooky!

Hey everyone! Halloween is here! Choose a spooky read that you have either read or want to read.

Since I don’t like reading spooky books, I have decided to do a spooky read I don’t want to read. I have chosen Miss Peregrines School For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. It’s a book with some lower reviews and a movie coming out. I definitely don’t want to read it.

Original Cover/Cover From My Country:

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #1)

Favorite Cover(s):

Die Insel der besonderen KinderGerman

Trại Trẻ Đặc Biệt Của Cô Peregrine (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #1)Vietmanese

Osobliwy dom pani PeregrinePolish

My favorite out of these is the German one. Normally German covers are among my least favorites. This cover is my favorite because of the colors and how the girl seems to be floating higher then in the original.

Least Favorite(s):

El hogar de Miss Peregrine para niños peculiares (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #1)Spanish

This is the movie one but it still isn’t the best.

La casa per bambini speciali di Miss PeregrineItalian

My least favorite out of these two is the movie cover. No hate to the Spanish cover. Other countries have the exact same one. I first saw it as the Spanish one when I disliked it. It’s too bright and cheerful.

That’s a wrap! The covers for this were mainly identical to the original and the Spanish. Hopefully next month will have more diverse covers. What is your favorite spooky read? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for next week’s BTT!

Because Mental Health matters! Choose a book that deals with mental health.

I have decided to do Highly Illogical Behavior by John Corey Whaley. Because it’s a newish book, there is a very limited number of covers so there will only be three this time.

Original Cover/Cover From My Country (US):

Highly Illogical BehaviorEnglish

Favorite Cover(s):

Highly Illogical Behavior (The Original)

Highly Illogical BehaviorEnglish

Least Favorite:

Altamente IrracionalPortuguese

Not to throw shade on Portugal, but this is my least favorite cover out of the very few. It’s interesting but not my favorite.

That’s a wrap! Have you read this book yet? Are you going to? Let me know! Hopefully the next BTT will be longer!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more Book Traveling Thursday!

Tomorrow is World Smile Day! Choose a book that made you smile recently.

This was tough since I haven’t been reading too much recently. I decided to do  The Odyssey by Homer. It’s a classic poem about a man named Odysseus and his travels. I recently finished this as a class read at school. It was fairly enjoyable and made me towards the end.

Original Cover/Cover From My Country (US):

No original cover. It’s  ancient Greek story/poem so there’s no exact original cover.

There’s really no exact cover for my country!

Favorite Cover(s):

الأوديسةArabic

La OdiseaSpanish

L'Odyssée (traduction de Leconte de Lisle)French

Ομήρου ΟδύσσειαGreek (Modern)

The Spanish one is my favorite out of these because of the detail and the color.

Least Favorite Cover(s):

La OdiseaSpanish

OdysseeGerman

OdisseaItalian

OdisseiaPortuguese

What happened Portugal? Did you forget to make a cover?

There was n0 fantastic covers for this one. Have you read or heard of The Odyssey? Let me know what you thought!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more Book Traveling Thursday!

Book Traveling Thursday (#32)|Classics In The Future

Hey everyone! This is my first weekly meme in weeks! I’m so sorry for going MIA. Hopefully I’ll be able to schedule posts and get some amazing things out to you again. Book Traveling Thursday is a weekly meme hosted by the amazing Catia @ The Girl Who Reads Too Much and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. Go check their amazing bookish blogs out 🙂 To find out more information, future themes and more, go visit the meme’s Goodreads group here. This week’s theme is:

Choose a book that you think it should be a classic in a few years.

I’ve done so many books already that definitely should be classics. I’m going to do The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I haven’t read this book and know it’s probably already a classic. I couldn’t think of any potential classics that I hadn’t done. Enjoy the covers and ignore the theme 🙂

Original Cover/Cover From My Country (US):

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Favorite Cover(s):

De belevenissen van een muurbloemDutch

Saksı Olmanın FaydalarıTurkish

Elämäni seinäruusunaFinnish

CharliePolish

My favorite cover out of these is the Finnish cover because it’s simple but leaves a lot of mystery. You really have no idea what the book will be about based on the cover.

Least Favorite Cover(s):

Fordelene ved at være en bænkevarmerDanish

Las ventajas de ser un marginadoSpanish

Pas raccordFrench

Vielleicht lieber morgenGerman

My least favorite out of these is the German one. Again, I haven’t read the book but what the heck Germany?!

That’s a wrap! Do you recommend this book if you’ve read it? What is your favorite and least favorite covers? Let me know!

Thanks for sticking around while I’m figuring out how to balance life and stay tuned for more!
