The Book Life Tag!

Hey everyone! Let’s celebrate the return of my book blog posts with a bookish tag! I randomly found this on Books & Other Pursuits. They did this tag in April so it was a while ago but that’s okay. They’re not the creator of this so I can’t give them complete credit though. The point of this tag is to answer questions with places or characters from books. It’s pretty short and simple. Let’s get started!

Who Would Your Parents Be?

This is a pretty basic answer but I’m going to say Molly and Arthur Weasley. They seem like they would be the best parents in the world (besides my own of course). Plus they’re gingers like me so that’s a plus.

Image result for molly weasley and arthur

Who Would Be Your Sister?

Definitely Blue Sargent from the Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater. I just finished the fourth book The Raven King and I loved it! I’m absolutely in love with the series. Blue would definitely have to be my sister because she’s like me because she’s more of a follower. She’s also just a great person overall.

Image result for raven cycle series blue fanart

Who Would Be Your Brother?

Levi from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell definitely. He would be such a kind and humorous brother. He also works at Starbucks which of course would have its benefits.

Image result for levi fangirl fan art

Who Would Be Your Pet?

This is going to be so repetitive but I’m going to say Chainsaw from the Raven Cycle series. He is such a loyal raven to Ronan and would definitely be there no matter what.

Image result for chainsaw raven cycle

Where Would You Live?

Green Gables from the Anne of Green Gables series by L.M. Montgomery. The land is filled with so many trees and lots of places to roam. The actual house would be a wonderful place to explore and relax in.

Image result for green gables house L.M. Montgomery

This is the house that was owned by relatives of Montgomery. It’s the Green Gables house that the house in the Anne series is apparently based off of.

Where Would You Go To School?

Hogwarts from the Harry Potter series of course!

Image result for hogwarts

Who Would Be Your Best Friend?

Liesel from the Book Thief by Markus Zusak. She’s just as into books as I am, she’s a badass and doesn’t always follow the rules. Liesel would be a great friend.

Image result for liesel book thief

Who Would Be Your Significant Other? *SPOILER?*

This is a tough one.. I’m going to say Gus from The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Even though he dies (this shouldn’t be a spoiler but just in case…) he would be a fantastic boyfriend. He’s such a sweet guy and good-looking too!

I tag anyone who wants to participate!

That’s a wrap! Do you agree or disagree with my choices? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more book tags!

Book And Tea Tag!

Hey everyone! I’m back with a tag. I saw this on @A Dance With Books. I wasn’t tagged but I loved the concept. I personally haven’t had much tea or coffee so I don’t relate to it in that way. Let’s get started!

Earl Gray  -> A Classic:

Until recently I would’ve said that I didn’t have an answer for this. Recently in High School we read To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I can definitely understand why it’s considered a classic. Thank goodness for required reading 😀

Image result for to kill a mockingbird quotes

Chai Tea -> A Book That Takes Place In Another Country

Another book we read this year was Night By Elie Wiesel. It’s an Autobiography with some fiction thrown in. The book takes place in Poland, Germany, and Romania. It’s a first hand account of Wiesel’s experience during the Holocaust. I definitely recommend this if you’re into historic books and eye-opening experiences.

Image result for night by elie

Green Tea -> A Light Book

This book always ends up in my tag posts. The book is Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. This is definitely a light and romantic book. If you haven’t read it, where have you been?!

Image result for fangirl rainbow rowell quotes

Mint Tea -> A Book With A Refreshing Twist

I always enjoy a good plot twist! The Raven Cycle Series by Maggie Stiefvater are always full of twists and turns. I’m not sure why it has some bad reviews on Goodreads. I’ve really enjoyed the series so far!

Image result for raven cycle quotes

Chamomile Tea  -> A Book That Calms You Down

A Blind Guide To Normal by Beth Vrabel was a calm book. There wasn’t too many major plot twists but it was still an enjoyable read. It’s meant for a younger audience but I still recommend it!

Image result

Cookie  -> A Novella Or Another Addition To A Book

I don’t really know if this counts but I really enjoyed Drama, Smile and Sisters all by Raina Telgemeier. The storyline and illustrations are very enjoyable and incredible.

Image result for raina telgemeier books

Sugar -> Very Cutesy Feel Good Read

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han was definitely a feel good read. There was conflict and drama but it wasn’t over the top or stressful to read.

To All the Boys I've Loved Before (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #1)

Milk -> A Book Others Disliked But You Enjoyed

The Raven Cycle series would’ve been a perfect answer for this one. I’m going to have to say Paper Towns by John Green. It seems like it was a book that people had some issues with. I personally enjoyed it.

Image result

Coziness/Sociability -> Three Characters You’d Invite To Your High Tea

Noah from the Raven Cycle series, Theodore Finch from All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven and Scout from To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. This would be a crazy tea time!

Your Favorite Tea And Fitting Book

This is the only question I can’t answer since I don’t drink tea.

I Tag:

Anyone who enjoys a good cup of tea and a book!

That’s a wrap! I really enjoyed doing this tag even though I’m not a tea drinker.

Get To Know Me Better Tag

Hey everyone! Once again, I’ve been MIA for a while. I wasn’t personally tagged but I have seen it done by Donna @ Chocolate’n’Waffles. Go check her out for fantastic bookish posts!

This year will be two years of blogging. I think it’s time for you guys to get to know me in a light and interesting way. Let’s get started!

What’s The Meaning Of My Name?

I looked it up a while back… After another search, my name (Makayla) means “who is like god.”

Image result for i'm fabulous

What is my Myer-Briggs personality type?

I have no idea how to explain this test. It’s some sort of personality test as shown by the title.

The Test

My Results:

I am a meditator or, (INFP-T). Here are the individual results:

17% Extraverted/83% Introverted This trait determines how we interact with our environment. This is very true! I’m a super introverted person 🙂

52% Intuitive/48% Observant  This trait shows where we direct our mental energy. I feel like the observant should’ve been higher. I’m definitely an observant person!

33% thinking/67% feeling This trait determines how we make decisions and cope with emotions. I had no idea the feelings would be so high! I guess I am a pretty emotional person though.

29% Judging/71% prospecting This trait reflects our approach to work, planning and decision-making. Not really sure how accurate this is.

19% assertive/81% turbulent This trait underpins all others, showing how confident we are in our abilities and decisions. This is probably pretty true.

Mediator personalities are true idealists, always looking for the hint of good in even the worst of people and events, searching for ways to make things better. While they may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, Mediators have an inner flame and passion that can truly shine. Comprising just 4% of the population, the risk of feeling misunderstood is unfortunately high for the Mediator personality type – but when they find like-minded people to spend their time with, the harmony they feel will be a fountain of joy and inspiration.

What is my Zodiac sign?

I’m a Scorpio!! According to the internet, Scorpio is nothing, if not fierce! The 8th Sign of the Zodiac, the Scorpio loves a good fight, and can give ‘intensity’ a run for its money (worth). Well, to put it simply, the Scorpions are strong, commanding, intense, passionate and zealous. Driven, dedicated and loyal, they also are ambitious and security-loving.

What is my Hogwarts House?

Don’t hate me, but I’ve never taken the official Pottermore test. I’ve only taken random quizzes that gave mixed results. This will be the true decider!

The sorting hat says:

Awesome! I’m a Hufflepuff 😀

What Are My Learning Styles?

Am I Right or Left Brain Dominant?

Take The Test Here

I  can’t seem to post the picture but I am right-brained. 66%  is right brained and 34% is left brained.

What Is My Blood Type?

I honestly have no idea..

What Career Am I Meant To Have?

Here’s the test

I got writer!

You have a skill for language, your imagination is vast and you are artistic and creative. Your brain is just overflowing with ideas, and all you have to do is get a piece of paper and share it with the world. You were born to turn words into magical stories.

This is pretty cool. I definitely love to write!

The Christmas Tag!

Hey everyone! It’s time for a Christmas themed tag! Since I celebrate Christmas, these are the kind of posts I do this time of year. If you don’t celebrate Christmas, you do you! I wasn’t tagged for this, I just saw it floating around on the internet. Let’s get started!

The Christmas Book Tag

1. What is your favorite Christmas film?

I love Frosty The Snowman, How The Grinch Stole Christmas and Home Alone. Those are just my top three. There are so many amazing Christmas movies!

Image result for frosty the snowmanImage result for how the grinch stole christmasImage result for home alone

 2. Have You Ever Had A White Christmas?

Only once that I can remember. Even then it wasn’t really a white Christmas. It just snowed a bit. Where I live, it doesn’t snow a whole lot so white Christmas’ don’t really happen.

Image result for white christmas

3. Where Do You Usually Spend Your Holiday?

Christmas Eve is normally at home with the family I live with or extended family. Christmas has always been at my Grandma’s house. Sometimes there’s gatherings with family before or after Christmas. It really depends on what’s going on.

Image result for merry christmas meme

What Is Your Favorite Christmas Song?

This shouldn’t be a question! One of my favorite songs is Winter Wonderland.

Do You Open Any Christmas Presents On Christmas Eve?

We get to open 1-3 presents and then the rest are saved for Christmas.

Image result for christmas presents meme

Can You Name All Of Santa’s Reindeer?

Nope… Rudolph, Vixen, Blitzen, Dasher, Dancer, Comet and Cupid. I looked it up and I only missed two!

What Christmas Traditions Are You Looking Forward To This Year?

Today I will be going to my Grandmas for a small gathering. We have brunch, open presents and stockings. It’s a fun time and very relaxed. On Christmas Eve we normally just stay home but this year we had people over. That might be a new tradition!

Is Your Christmas Tree Real Or Fake?

Ours is real. It’s the biggest one we’ve gotten. I’ve never had a fake tree but  I know people who always have one.

Be Honest, Do You Like Giving Or Receiving Gifts Better?

I enjoy both but it’s satisfying to buy a gift for someone and see their reaction to it.

What’s The Best Christmas Gift You Ever Received?

I honestly have no idea. I can’t remember most of the gifts I received. That doesn’t mean they weren’t amazing, I just can’t remember small specific things like that.

What’s Your Dream Place To Visit For The Holiday Season?

Disneyland, London, New York and Hogwarts. A wide variety of course 🙂

Image result for disneyland christmasImage result for london christmas

Image result for christmas new yorkImage result for hogwarts christmas

Are You A Pro Present Wrapper Or Do You Fail Miserably?

I consider myself not too bad but other people’s skills blow me away. For the very few gifts I bought, I decided to just use gift bags this year.

Most Memorable Christmas Moment?

My first Christmas was probably pretty memorable. Every Christmas is memorable for me in its own way.

What Made You Realize The Truth About Santa?

Truth? What truth? I’m just kidding. My parents kept it going for a very long time. The kids at school ruined it for me. I was in denial until a few years ago. I’m still a teenager so that was when I was a child.

What Makes The  Holidays Special For You?

Spending time with family! There’s some family that I don’t get to see much so the holidays are the only time I can do that.

I used to do it a couple of days or so after I finished the book. Now it’s probably close to a week or more.

It used to be 4-6 days a week. Then it went to every once in a blue moon. Now it’s hopefully going to be back to 4-6 days. I normally do Top Ten Tuesdays, a new meme will be Wednesday, Book Traveling Thursdays, tags normally on the weekend and reviews thrown in.

Pokémon Go Book Tag!!

Hey everyone! It’s Wednesday and it’s time for a rare double post day. Today I am doing a book tag. More specifically the Pokémon Go Book Tag. I saw this on My Tiny Obsessions’ blog last month and knew I had to do it. Go check out her amazing blog for all things bookish, movie, TV shows, traveling and so much more!  For the record, I do not play Pokémon Go and don’t plan to. I can understand why it’s fun and so hyped but it’s just not my thing. This tag was created by Aentee @ Read At Midnight.

Pokemon-Go-Book-Tag

I’m going to use Aentee’s graphics because they’re so amazing!

pokemon-tag-01starters

This book definitely started my love for reading. It was my first chapter book and after that, I wanted to read as much as Junie B Jones as possible. After that all I wanted to do was read.

pokemon-tag02pikachuI haven’t read any iconic classics. I’m sure I’ll read some in High School though!

pokemon-tag-03-zubat

Hmm.. I’m going to say Allegiant by Veronica Roth. The hype died down a long time ago. I have heard nothing but bad about the book so I refuse to read it. It’s not everywhere now but it was.

Pokemon-Tag-04-Ditto

I’m going to say Half Brother by Kenneth Oppal. It’s sooo similar to another book I’ve read but I still loved it.

Pokemon-Tag-05-Snorlax
Nothing comes to mind. Even if a book is super long, I’d still read it.

Pokemon-Tag06-Gengar

The last book that kept me up was I Am The Messenger by Markus Zusak. It kept me up because of the suspense, mystery and adventure. I just couldn’t bring myself to put it down.

Pokemon-Tag07-NidokingQueen

This is pretty tough. I’m going to say Cath and Levi from Fangirl. They’re already together but they are still the perfect OTP1`

Pokemon-Tag08-RapidashI’m going to say The Hunger Games series. Something is always happening and there’s plot twists popping up everywhere!

Pokemon-Tag09-EeveeI’m going to say The Harry Potter series. I’m excited to see how the Cursed Child book is. But just like the rest of the series, I’m sure I’ll read it way later than everyone else.

Pokemon-Tag14-Magikarp

The Harry Potter series would be perfect for this. Since I just did that answer… The Book Thief. I was hesitant to read it but am so glad I did.

Pokemon-Tag12-LegendaryNothing comes to mind. I don’t really have an series’ that I want to read.

Pokemon-Tag15Mew-MewTwoThe Fangirl collectors edition, The Harry Potter book series collectors editions and the Eleanor and Park collectors edition just to name a few.

Pokemon-Tag10-EggI don’t have any debut novels. Just more from Becky Albertalli, Nicola Yoon and Bill Kongisberg!

Pokemon-Tag11-Lure-ModuleNone! I don’t do any of that stuff.

Pokemon-Tag13-Server-Down

The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon-Release Date: November 1st,2016
The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli-Release Date: April 2017
Honestly Ben by Bill Konigsberg-Release Date: Fall 2016
That’s all for now!

I nominate: EVERYONE who wants to participate! This is a great tag for Pokémon Go fans and non Pokémon Go fans alike. What’s your favorite Pokémon? Let me know!
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more great book tags!

The Greek Mythology Book Tag!

Hey everyone! It’s Saturday and that means relaxation. Today I’m going to be doing a book tag. Specifically as you can tell by the title, The Greek Mythology Tag. I saw this on Catiá @ The Girl Who Read Too Much blog  and knew I had to do it. Without further ado, here we go.

Greek

Zeus (Jupiter): God of the Sky and Thunder/King of The Gods- Favorite Book (Choose Your Own Category!!)

This shouldn’t even be a question!! I have so many favorites. If I had to pick A favorite, it would have to be Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone by J.K. Rowling. It’s one of my favorites because it made me finally see how amazing Harry Potter is.

image

Poseidon (Neptune): God of The Seas and Earthquakes- Book That Drowned You In Feels

So many!! I am going to have to say Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Levi and Cath’s adorable relationship drowned me over and over again.

Hades (Pluto): God Of The Underworld- Favorite Book With a Dark/Ominous  Plot

I can’t think of any.

Hera (Juno): Goddess of Marriage and Family- Cutest Fictional Couple

I haven’t talked too much about Simon and Blue from Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda lately. (Or have I?) Anyway.. They are so adorable! I can’t get over how cute they are throughout the whole book. If you haven’t read the book yet, what are you waiting for?!

Athena (Minerva): Goddess of Wisdom, Handicraft and Strategic Warfare- Series with the best world building

Hunger Games all the way!! The way they portray the actual Hunger Games in both the book and the movie is amazing.

Aphrodite (Venus): Goddess of Love and Beauty- Most Beautiful Cover on a 2016 Release

This one hasn’t been released yet but The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. It  has such a beautiful cover! I cant wait to read the book 🙂

Ares (Mars): God of War and Bloodshed- Most Violent Book You’ve Ever Read

I don’t really read violent books. I guess Divergent and Insurgent by Veronica Roth are really all I can think of.

Hephaestus (Vulcan): God of Blacksmiths and Fire- Scorching Hot Swoon Worthy Character

Hmm.. Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars and Oscar from I’ll Give You The Sun are up there 😀

Artemis (Diana): Goddess of the Hunt and Virginity- Favorite Kick-Ass Heroine

Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games) and Tris Prior (Divergent) come to mind. They are pretty kick-ass and do what they can to protect their family.

Phoebus Apollo (Apollo): God of Light and Healing- Sequel Book That Redeemed Its Series

None. If I don’t like the first book I wouldn’t read the second.

Hermes (Mercury): Messenger God Of Thieves and Commerce – Book With The Best Message

Um.. I don’t know. Openly Straight by Bill Konigsberg. It teaches you that it’s okay to be your self and to not let others judge you and get you down. That’s probably not the best example but it’s all I got.

Steve Harvey!!!

Hestia (Vesta): Goddess of The Hearth and Home- Book With The Most Relatable Story.

I’m going to steal Càtia and Cristina @ My Tiny Obsessions. Sorry guys! Fangirl is the most relatable because the main character Cath is so relatable 🙂

Demeter (Ceres): Goddess of Fertility and Agriculture- Best Bookish Setting

Hogwarts all the way!! I know it’s not an original answer but it’s true!

Dionysus (Bacchus): God of Wine and Celebration- 2016 Release You Are Most Anticipating

I guess I already used the answer above. I guess I’ll say Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I know it’s not an actual  book. I don’t care if J.K. Rowling can’t let go of Harry Potter. Since I can’t make it to London for the play, this book is my only taste of it.

I tag EVERYONE who wants to participate! No pressure of course 🙂

That’s a wrap! This tag taught me a lot about Greek Mythology. It’s a fun tag and is definitely worth the time.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more book tags!
