Get To Know Me Better Tag

Hey everyone! Once again, I’ve been MIA for a while. I wasn’t personally tagged but I have seen it done by Donna @ Chocolate’n’Waffles. Go check her out for fantastic bookish posts!

This year will be two years of blogging. I think it’s time for you guys to get to know me in a light and interesting way. Let’s get started!

What’s The Meaning Of My Name?

I looked it up a while back… After another search, my name (Makayla) means “who is like god.”

Image result for i'm fabulous

What is my Myer-Briggs personality type?

I have no idea how to explain this test. It’s some sort of personality test as shown by the title.

The Test

My Results:

I am a meditator or, (INFP-T). Here are the individual results:

17% Extraverted/83% Introverted This trait determines how we interact with our environment. This is very true! I’m a super introverted person 🙂

52% Intuitive/48% Observant  This trait shows where we direct our mental energy. I feel like the observant should’ve been higher. I’m definitely an observant person!

33% thinking/67% feeling This trait determines how we make decisions and cope with emotions. I had no idea the feelings would be so high! I guess I am a pretty emotional person though.

29% Judging/71% prospecting This trait reflects our approach to work, planning and decision-making. Not really sure how accurate this is.

19% assertive/81% turbulent This trait underpins all others, showing how confident we are in our abilities and decisions. This is probably pretty true.

Mediator personalities are true idealists, always looking for the hint of good in even the worst of people and events, searching for ways to make things better. While they may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, Mediators have an inner flame and passion that can truly shine. Comprising just 4% of the population, the risk of feeling misunderstood is unfortunately high for the Mediator personality type – but when they find like-minded people to spend their time with, the harmony they feel will be a fountain of joy and inspiration.

What is my Zodiac sign?

I’m a Scorpio!! According to the internet, Scorpio is nothing, if not fierce! The 8th Sign of the Zodiac, the Scorpio loves a good fight, and can give ‘intensity’ a run for its money (worth). Well, to put it simply, the Scorpions are strong, commanding, intense, passionate and zealous. Driven, dedicated and loyal, they also are ambitious and security-loving.

What is my Hogwarts House?

Don’t hate me, but I’ve never taken the official Pottermore test. I’ve only taken random quizzes that gave mixed results. This will be the true decider!

Book Traveling Thursday (#37)|2017

Hey everyone! It’s the final Book Traveling Thursday of 2016. It’s also the final weekly meme related post of the year. Book Traveling Thursday is a weekly meme hosted by Cátia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much  and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. Danielle has been inactive since last year so technically it’s just Cátia manning this ship alone. Kudos to her! To find out more information, future themes and more, go visit the meme’s Goodreads group here. This last theme is one that looks ahead to the New Year.

2016 is coming to an end… Choose a book you want to read in 2017!

I have decided to do a book that will be released next year. It’s called The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli.

Original/Cover From My Country (US)/Favorite Cover:

The Upside of Unrequited

This is the only cover this week. Since this book isn’t even released yet, there isn’t any other covers. That’s also why there is no least favorites. I love the cover and can’t wait to read this when it comes out April 11th.

That’s a wrap! Sorry, this post wasn’t very exciting. What books are on your TBR for 2017? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and see you next year with more weekly meme posts!

Book Traveling Thursday (#36)|Christmas!

Hey everyone! It’s time for a holiday themed Book Traveling Thursday! This wonderful weekly meme is hosted by Cátia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. To find out more info about the meme, future themes and more, visit the meme’s Goodreads group here. This week’s theme is:

It’s Christmas Time!! Choose a book that makes you think about Christmas. (If you don’t celebrate Christmas you can choose a book that features any other festivity)

I decided to pick a classic picture book since I couldn’t think of any YA books. I chose How The Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss.

Original/Cover From My Country (US):

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Favorite Cover(s):

Comment le Grinch A Vole Noel (French Edition)French

Il GrinchItalian

Le GrinchFrench

Most of the covers were like the original so there’s slim pickings for this one. France knew what they were doing with this one. My favorite is the movie one because of how it shows the movie Grinch and that’s it. No extra pictures or anything that has nothing to do with the story.

Least Favorite Cover(s):

Cum a furat Grinch Crăciunul

Every cover like this one that’s just like the original. The only different is the language. Use a little imagination!

That’s a wrap! The covers were not never diverse this week. What’s your favorite Christmas story? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more Book Traveling Thursday!

Book Traveling Thursday (#34)|Mental Illness

Hey everyone! It’s time for another Book Traveling Thursday. This weekly meme is hosted by Cátia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog! Go check their fantastic bookish blogs out. To find out more info, future themes and more, go visit the Goodreads group here. This week’s theme is:

Because Mental Health matters! Choose a book that deals with mental health.

I have decided to do Highly Illogical Behavior by John Corey Whaley. Because it’s a newish book, there is a very limited number of covers so there will only be three this time.

Original Cover/Cover From My Country (US):

Highly Illogical BehaviorEnglish

Favorite Cover(s):

Highly Illogical Behavior (The Original)

Highly Illogical BehaviorEnglish

Least Favorite:

Altamente IrracionalPortuguese

Not to throw shade on Portugal, but this is my least favorite cover out of the very few. It’s interesting but not my favorite.

That’s a wrap! Have you read this book yet? Are you going to? Let me know! Hopefully the next BTT will be longer!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more Book Traveling Thursday!

Book Traveling Thursday (#30) Nonfiction

Hey everyone! It’s Thursday and that means it’s time for another Book Traveling Thursday. This weekly meme is hosted by the wonderful Càtia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. Go check them out for all things memes and books. To find out more information, future themes and more, go to the meme’s Goodreads group here. This week’s theme is:

Because we don’t always read fiction… choose your favorite non-fiction book.

I almost didn’t participate but then I remembered a book we read at school. It’s called: The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank.

Original Cover:

(The Diary of a Young Girl)

Cover From My Country (US):

The Diary of a Young Girl

Favorite Cover(s):

O Diário de Anne FrankPortuguese

Jurnalul Annei FrankRomanian

El Diario de Ana FrankSpanish

Дневникът на Ане ФранкBulgarian

My favorite cover out of these is the Portuguese cover because it shows lots of  pictures and has great detail!

Least Favorite Cover(s):

O Diário de Anne FrankPortuguese

Het Achterhuis, Dagboekbrieven 12 juni 1942 - 1 augustus 1944Dutch

บันทึกลับของแอนน์ แฟร้งค์ ฉบับเพิ่มเติมบันทึกที่พบล่าสุดThai

Das Tagebuch der Anne FrankGerman

My least favorite out of these is both the Thai and Portuguese covers. I don’t like the Portuguese one  because it looks like it’s done by a little kid. I don’t enjoy the Thai one because it’s plain.

That’s a wrap! What is your favorite and least favorite covers? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for next week’s Book Traveling Thursday!
