Liebster Award 2.0

Hey everyone!  It’s Monday and today I am doing an award. I was nominated by @TheWhimsicalChick! A huge shoutout to her. This seems slightly  like the Liebster Award I did so long ago. I answer ten questions given to me by The Whimsical Chick and give 10 random facts about myself. I then nominate 10 people and give them 10 questions to answer themselves. I hope to do awards and tags more often 🙂

The Rules:

  1. Post the award on your blog.
  2. Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you.
  3. Answer the questions assigned to you.
  4. Give 10 random facts about yourself.
  5. Nominate 10 deserving bloggers for the award.
  6. Ask 10 questions to your nominees.

The questions:

1.What was your favorite childhood book?

This is tough since I’ve always loved books. I enjoyed Dr. Seuss books like Green Eggs and Ham.

2.Where is one instance where you liked a movie better than the book it was based off of?

I haven’t seen many book to movie adaptions but I’ve always loved the book more. So I guess there hasn’t been an instance yet?

3.Where is one instance where you liked the book better than the movie?

All the instances I’ve seen a book to movie adaption XD

4.Who is your role model?

Definitely my mom. She’s done so much for me and taught me a lot. My mom has made me the person I am today 🙂

5. If you could go back in time, what era would you go to? Would you change anything?

I’d go to the Mesozoic era. It was when the first mammals came. I wouldn’t change anything about history. It’s made the world how it is today.
One of the first mammals

6.What is the most time you have re-read a book?

I don’t know. 3-5 times I believe. I normally don’t re-read. I love reading new books. They’re more exciting and I have no idea what’s going to happen. When I re-read a book, I always seem to remember at least some of what happens.

7.What is your favorite food to snack on while reading?

I don’t eat or drink anything while reading. I get so into the book I’m reading that I can’t do anything else.

8.Who would you dress as for a literary costume party?

Cath from Fangirl, Ginny from Harry Potter and Katniss from the Hunger Games are my top three

9. If you could recommend one book to everyone reading this, what would it be?
That’s a tough one since everyone has different interests. I guess Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone.

10.What is your favorite food?

As a lover of food, this is tough. I’m going to say Macaroni and Cheese. It’s more of a “kids food” but I love it.
This made me hungry!!

10 Facts About Me!

  1. I have had two dogs, two cats, and one rooster/chicken in my lifetime
  2. My favorite colors are purple and blue
  3. I am going into High School next month
  4. One of my obsessions is YouTube. I could watch it for hours.
  5. I have never read the Twilight series
  6. I don’t know how to do a cartwheel
  7. My best friend and I have the same middle name
  8. My favorite TV shows right now are Big Brother, American Ninja Warrior and Bones
  9. I love staying up past midnight and sleeping in past ten am.
  10. I completed the Summer Reading log at my local library and entered to win a set of the Harry Potter books.

I nominate:

No pressure! If you don’t want to do this, then don’t. It’s 100% your choice 😀

Questions For You:

  1. What book made you cringe?
  2.  What are your top 5 favorite authors?
  3. What is your dream vacation destination
  4. How many pets have you had in your life time?
  5. What countries have you lived in?
  6. What was your dream job when you were a child?
  7. What is your job now?
  8. Who is your favorite bookish couple?
  9. Who is your role model?
  10. What are some of your biggest pet peeves?

I can’t wait to see your answers 🙂

That’s a wrap! What would be your answers to the questions I answered? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more tags and awards!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi everyone!! For some, today is Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving! For others, it’s Thursday. Fox59 posted a list of facts titled “Thanksgiving by the numbers…” I 100% give them the credit for these surprising facts.

2 — The ranking of Thanksgiving on the list of America’s favorite holidays. Christmas is No. 1.
2 — The maximum number of days the U.S. Department of Agriculture suggests keeping a fresh turkey before cooking it.

2.5 — The number in miles of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade available for public viewing.

4 — Americans celebrate Thanksgiving every year on the fourth Thursday of November.

5-5.5 — The number of hours it takes to cook a stuffed 22- to 24-pound turkey in an oven set to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

11-12 — The number of hours it takes to thaw a frozen 22- to 24-pound turkey in cold water. Compare that with the 5½ to six days it takes to thaw in the refrigerator.

17 — Ridges on a 14-ounce can of Ocean Spray Jellied Cranberry Sauce.

36 — The number of years it took magazine editor Sarah Josepha Hale to crusade for an annual Thanksgiving holiday. National and local days of thanksgiving had been celebrated over the years, but President Abraham Lincoln finally proclaimed the fourth Thursday in November Thanksgiving in 1863.

46 million — The estimated number of turkeys eaten in the United States on Thanksgiving 2012.

46.9 million — The estimated number of Americans who will be traveling more than 50 miles for Thanksgiving in 2015, according to AAA.

50 million — The approximate number of people who typically watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on television.

68 — The number of years between 1947, the first National Thanksgiving Turkey presentation at the White House, and Thanksgiving 2015.

74 — The number of years between 1941, when Congress decided that the fourth Thursday in November would be observed as Thanksgiving Day and a federal legal holiday, and Thanksgiving 2015.

79 — Percentage of Americans surveyed who said eating Thanksgiving leftovers is more important than eating their regular Thanksgiving meal.

88 — The approximate percentage of Americans who eat turkey on Thanksgiving Day, according to a National Turkey Federation survey.

91 — The number of years between 1924, when the first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade took place, and Thanksgiving 2015. It was originally called the Macy’s Christmas Parade.

95 — The number of years between the first NFL Thanksgiving Day games in 1920 and Thanksgiving 2015.

152 — The number of years between October 3, 1863, when Lincoln proclaimed a national annual Thanksgiving Day, and Thanksgiving 2015.

226 — The number of years between 1789, when President George Washington issued a proclamation naming November 26 a day of national thanksgiving, and Thanksgiving 2015.

394 — The number of years between 1621, when the first Thanksgiving was observed in Plymouth, Massachusetts, and Thanksgiving 2015. A good harvest led Plymouth Colony Gov. William Bradford to plan a festival to give thanks. Around 90 Native Americans attended.

4,500 — The average number of calories you might consume on Thanksgiving, according to the Calorie Control Council. That’s 3,000 for the meal, and another 1,500 for snacking and nibbling.

135.8 million — Estimated Thanksgiving weekend shoppers in 2015.

Hi everyone!

Today I am finally doing another tag. The Fall Time Cozy Book Tag! I was nominated by two amazing bloggers. Her blog also has a very unique layout. Go check out their amazing blogs by clicking their names. Without further ado, let’s get going!

Crunching Leaves: The world is full of color. Choose a book that has reds, oranges, and yellows on the cover.

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins has lots of red, some orange and some yellow. If you haven’t read the Hunger Games series, I recommend it 100%.
Cozy Sweater: It’s finally cold enough to don warm cozy clothing. What book gives you the warm fuzzies?
Paper Towns by John Green gave me the warm fuzzies at many points. Quentin and Margo’s relationship was so unique and adorable.
Fall Storm: The wind is howling and the rain is pounding. Choose your favorite book OR genre that you like to read on a stormy day.
I love to read humor books because they keep me smiling and laughing through the bad weather.

Cool Crisp Air: Who’s the coolest character you’d want to trade places with?
I’m going to have to say Ron Weasley because he is so smart and funny. I am also going to say Dumbledore because he is so wise and understanding.
Hot Apple Cider: What under hyped book do you want to see become the next biggest hottest thing?
I honestly can’t think of a book off the top of my head.
Coats, Scarves and Mittens: The weather has turned cold and it’s time to cover up. What’s the most embarrassing book cover you own that you like to keep hidden in public?
I don’t take these books in public but I like to hide my One Direction books. First it was Justin Bieber now It’s One Direction. Most people don’t know about my obsession that has lessened slowly.
Pumpkin Spice: What’s your favorite fall time comfort food(s)?
Lots of the comfort foods I love, I eat all year round. This time of year I especially love hot chocolate, candy canes, cookies, and pie.
That’s all. Since I know many have been tagged and have already participated, I tag EVERYONE  who wants to participate.
Thanks for reading and stay tune for more tags 🙂

Writing 101 Day #4: Picture Prompt

Hello everyone! Today I am doing Writing 101: Day #4. If you are unfamiliar with Writing 101, I suggest that you check out the link here. Yesterday`s post was all about writing based on a word prompt. Today its the same concept but with a picture.

Waddling Along

Mom and Dad have disappeared

Oh dear, Oh dear, where have they gone?

All around are unfamiliar faces

Tending to their young

All alone in the icy snow

The downy soft fur will work for now

But only Mom and Dad can catch the food

Suddenly it is raining fish

That`s not right

What`s going on

I feel something shaking me

Mom`s anxious face peers down at me

Thank goodness it was just a terrible dream!

Thanks for reading and Stay tuned for more.
