The Sunshine Blogger Award #3

Hey everyone! Recently I was tagged by Lauren @ Comma Hangover to do the Sunshine Blogger Award. Go check her out for memes, tags, reading challenges, book reviews and more! I did this twice in August of 2015. I thought it was time to do another one. Plus I’ve definitely changed a lot in a couple short years.

Rules

  • Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post or blog
  • Answer the eleven questions sent by the person who nominated you
  • Nominate eleven new blogs to receive the award and write them eleven newaward31Let’s get started!

    1. Is there a character name from your favorite book that you would consider giving to your future child, pet, or another living thing?

Right now, my favorite book is The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli. Hopefully I’ll get around to reviewing it. If not, I honestly was in love with the characters from page one and I would definitely recommend it. Anyway, the main character is named Molly. I would definitely name either a child or a pet Molly. It’s a perfect and simple name.

2. If you could pick three books that will be stocked in every library in the world, which books would they be and why?

Only three books? This is a tough one. I’m going to say:

  1. The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli because it touches on topics like same-sex marriage, weight and tough topics like sex.
  2. To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee because it is a classic that teaches lots of good lessons and is a good read in general.
  3. The Sun is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon because it is an incredible book that talks about race, fate and is a book that I could read several times without getting bored.

3. You’re heading to the beach for the day, what’s in your bag?

Honestly if it’s for the day I probably don’t bring a bag. I always have flip-flops, my iPhone and a beach towel so I guess that’s what I’ll say.

4. If you could jump into one book, what would it be and why? Would you attempt to change the plot?

Dang.. these questions with choosing books really get me! I’m going to be basic and say Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone by JK Rowling because I’d love to see Hogwarts and all the amazing people within it. Would I change the plot? Of course not!

5. What TV series is currently on the top of your “to watch” list?

To be honest, I don’t really have a “to watch” list. I really need to get into some new TV series. Recommend some for me to watch and those will definitely go on my list!

6. You’re packing for a dream vacation. Where are you going and what is in your bag? (Books? Makeup? Favorite items of clothing?)

I’d definitely go to London. That’s one of the places that’s on my so-called “bucket list.” I would bring lots of T-Shirts, jeans, sweatshirts, maybe a book or two, money… basically normal things I wear and use frequently.

7. What is your favorite movie, and is there a scene you would recreate from it if given he chance?

One of my favorite movies is definitely Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. I honestly loved the whole movie but I’d love to recreate the scene with all the creatures.

8. Do you like to cook? What is the last recipe you made or looked up?

I like the idea of cooking but I don’t really cook. I always look of recipes for macaroni and cheese. Even as a teenager, that’s still one of my favorite meals.

9. You get to time travel back to any event in history. What would it be and why?

I’m quite fascinated by history. I would like to time travel back to the assassination of JFK. Not because I thought it was justified but because I’d want to experience the mood and feelings in the air. It was a traumatic and historic event that would be incredible and terrible to witness.

10. Do you prefer books with one POV or multiple POVs?

I like both multiple and one POV but I normally read books with one POV. I feel like I get into the story more and can connect with the character easier.

Book And Tea Tag!

Hey everyone! I’m back with a tag. I saw this on @A Dance With Books. I wasn’t tagged but I loved the concept. I personally haven’t had much tea or coffee so I don’t relate to it in that way. Let’s get started!

Earl Gray  -> A Classic:

Until recently I would’ve said that I didn’t have an answer for this. Recently in High School we read To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I can definitely understand why it’s considered a classic. Thank goodness for required reading 😀

Chai Tea -> A Book That Takes Place In Another Country

Another book we read this year was Night By Elie Wiesel. It’s an Autobiography with some fiction thrown in. The book takes place in Poland, Germany, and Romania. It’s a first hand account of Wiesel’s experience during the Holocaust. I definitely recommend this if you’re into historic books and eye-opening experiences.

Green Tea -> A Light Book

This book always ends up in my tag posts. The book is Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. This is definitely a light and romantic book. If you haven’t read it, where have you been?!

Mint Tea -> A Book With A Refreshing Twist

I always enjoy a good plot twist! The Raven Cycle Series by Maggie Stiefvater are always full of twists and turns. I’m not sure why it has some bad reviews on Goodreads. I’ve really enjoyed the series so far!

Chamomile Tea  -> A Book That Calms You Down

A Blind Guide To Normal by Beth Vrabel was a calm book. There wasn’t too many major plot twists but it was still an enjoyable read. It’s meant for a younger audience but I still recommend it!

Cookie  -> A Novella Or Another Addition To A Book

I don’t really know if this counts but I really enjoyed Drama, Smile and Sisters all by Raina Telgemeier. The storyline and illustrations are very enjoyable and incredible.

Sugar -> Very Cutesy Feel Good Read

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han was definitely a feel good read. There was conflict and drama but it wasn’t over the top or stressful to read.

To All the Boys I've Loved Before (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #1)

Milk -> A Book Others Disliked But You Enjoyed

The Raven Cycle series would’ve been a perfect answer for this one. I’m going to have to say Paper Towns by John Green. It seems like it was a book that people had some issues with. I personally enjoyed it.

Coziness/Sociability -> Three Characters You’d Invite To Your High Tea

Noah from the Raven Cycle series, Theodore Finch from All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven and Scout from To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. This would be a crazy tea time!

Your Favorite Tea And Fitting Book

This is the only question I can’t answer since I don’t drink tea.

I Tag:

Anyone who enjoys a good cup of tea and a book!

That’s a wrap! I really enjoyed doing this tag even though I’m not a tea drinker.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more tags!

Top Ten Tuesdays: Historic Settings

Hey everyone! It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesdays! This weekly meme was created by the amazing people at The Broke and The Bookish. This weeks theme is:

Top Ten Historical Settings You Love/ Ten Historical Settings You’d Love To See or Top Futuristic Books You Love/Ten Futuristic Societies I’d Love To Read in Books — basically this week is all about the past or the future….spin it however you choose!

I have chosen to do Ten Historic Settings I’d Love To See.

Ten Historic Settings:

  1. Verona, Italy where Romeo and Juliet is set

It would be so interesting to see the place where Romeo and Juliet was set.

2) North Carolina where the Wright Brothers started to experiment with flying.

It would be so cool to see where the Wright Brothers started to fly.

3) New York City where 9/11 took place

This is a picture of the Statue of Liberty with the World Trade Center burning in the background. I want to see the memorial for all of those lives lost on 9/11.

4) Pearl Harbor where the attack happened.

It would be interesting to see where the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and if there’s any wreckage still there.

5) The White House

Many historical things have happened at the White House.

6) The Titanic

It would be so cool to see where the Titanic movie was filmed and where it was recreated/built.

7)The Iconic MLK March

It would be amazing to see where Martin Luther King Jr. lead his march.

8) Where JFK is buried and assassinated.

It would be interesting to see where JFK was assassinated and where he is buried now.

9) North and South Korea border

So much has happened here.

10)The Lincoln Memorial

This would be amazing to see!

That’s a wrap!!

Where do you want to visit? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for next week’s Top Ten Tuesday!
