2. The Porcupine of Truth by Bill Konigsberg

One of the books I have to review. One of the main characters, a boy, has an alcoholic dad. The other is a lesbian. They go on an exciting adventure to find the grandpa of the boy. Will they find him? Read the book to find out!

3. Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

The main characters are twins. One is in love with a biker. The other is gay and in love with the new neighbor. Something happens that makes the twins not talk to each other and avoid all contact. Do they make up and become close again? Read the book to find out!

5. Every Day by David Levithan

A book about a person who changes bodies every day. They live a different life everyday but are always in love with the same girl.

The Desert Island Book Tag!

Hey everyone! It’s your lucky day. You get a WWW Wednesday and a book tag all in one day! This is a quick tag that I thought would be perfect to do today. I was unofficially tagged  by the wonderful My Tiny Obsessions. You definitely need to check out her book, music, travel and more filled blog if you haven’t already. Thank you! Without further ado, here we go!

Desert Island

Water: A Book You Can Simply Cannot Live Without.

That would have to be all my books obviously XD

Okay, I’ll answer this seriously. I would have to say Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. This book changed my life. It started my love for Harry Potter and made me realize I am a Weasley. Without it, I wouldn’t be a Potterhead 😀

Food: A Book That Is a Close Second On Your Favorites List.

That would have to be Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. This book got me hooked on contemporary books. It also gave me another author to love and cherish 😀

Shelter: A Book That Makes You Feel At Home And Safe.

Anything fantasy, humor, adventure or contemporary!

Flare Gun: A Book You Would Recommend To Someone Who Doesn’t Read.

I honestly don’t know. The Harry Potter series would probably be good since it’s a pretty simple read that draws you in.

Matchsticks: A Book That Warms Your Heart.

That would have to be Simon v.s. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. Simon and Blue’s relationship warmed my heart throughout the whole book. They’re just so adorable 🙂

Compass: A Book That Directed You Towards Your Love of Reading.

That would have to be the first chapter book I ever read. That would be Junie B Jones Is Captain Field Day by Barbara Park. It really set off my love for reading.

I’m going to tag EVERYONE who wants to do this tag!

That’s a wrap! This was a short but sweet book tag.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more book tags!

My favorite out of these is the German one. It looks so beautiful and majestic.

What the heck is wrong with this one?! Oreos are kind of part of the book. This is the only least favorite cover because there still isn’t very many covers for this book.

Anyway, It’s Wednesday and that means it’s time for WWW Wednesday. This amazing meme is hosted by @Sam. You should definitely check out her blog if you haven’t already! To participate you just have to answer three questions:

What did you recently read?

What are you currently reading?

What are you going to read next?

WWW Wednesday

Recently Read:

Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda was absolutely amazing and adorable. I did a review on it a couple of days ago. Check it out here.

The House of Robots Robots Go Wild was an awesome sequel!! I loved it so much but won’t do a review on it. Readers on my blog seem to not enjoy tween/children book reviews. Therefore, I will stray away from them as much as I can.

Currently Reading:

This book’s characters and settings are absolutely amazing. It’s not too much of a page turner and it’s not very well written. Definitely not my favorite book.

That’s all for this week’s WWW Wednesdays!!

Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda (Book Review)

Hey everyone! Today it’s time for another book review. Many of you will be excited to hear that this book is for teenagers and not for tweens/children. The book is Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. It’s quite a unique book for me because it’s the first LGBTQ book.

Blog Graphic (1)

Name: Simon v.s. The Homo Sapiens Agenda

Author: Becky Albertalli

A little fun fact is that this is Becky’s first ever book. It’s also available in French! This amazing book was published last year (2015)

# of pages: 303

My Rating: 6/5 stars (It was honestly that good)

Goodreads Rating: 4.3/5 stars

Amazon Rating: 4.7/5 stars

Amazon Summary:

Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now change-averse Simon has to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he’s pushed out—without alienating his friends, compromising himself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most confusing, adorable guy he’s never met.

My Thoughts:

This book is amazing! It’s hard to believe this is Becky Albertalli’s debut novel! Like I mentioned above, this was my first LGBTQ novel and I’m very impressed! Simon Spier is so darn adorable. His email relationship with Blue is absolutely adorable. Everything about this book is just adorable. I’m not going to spoil who Blue is, but when you do find out it’s like… POW!

Following Simon through his journey in this book is absolutely amazing. I really want to say more but I don’t want to spoil anything.

If you enjoy adventurous, suspenseful and/or romantic books, this is for you!

For those who have read the book, I have some good news that you may or may not know. Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda is going to be made into a movie!!!

They started working on it October of last year. There is no release date. Fox 2000 is going to produce it. Fox 2000 also produced book to film adaptions like Paper Towns and the Maze Runner.

That’s a wrap! Do you think you’ll read this book? If you’ve already read it, what are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more book reviews to come!

The Book Love Tag

Hey everyone! I haven’t done a tag in such a long time!! Today I have decided to do The Book Love Tag. I was unofficially/officially tagged by My Tiny Obsessions. You should definitely check out her bookish and obsession blog! I have a lot of love for all things bookish. This should be good!

The Blook Love Tag

Without further ado, here we go!

1) Favorite Book Couple.

This is so hard!! I’ll just say one of them: Levi and Cath from Fangirl. The way Levi loves Cath through everything is so sweet! If you haven’t read Fangirl yet.. what are you waiting for?!

2) Your Top 3 Book Boy/Girlfriends

This is going to be tough..

1)Harry and Ginny

2)Katniss and Peeta

3) Ron and Hermione

@Pinterest

3) Imagine Your Favorite Book Couple. Who Would Propose, and How? (If there’s already been a proposal: Who Would Be More Into Organizing the Wedding? *Spoilers*

I’m going to pick Harry and Ginny for this one. In the Deathly Hallows, in the nineteen years later part, they are married. In the book there was no proposal so I’ll describe that 🙂

Harry would be the one to propose. He would probably propose at the end of their time at Hogwarts after the big battle with Voldemort and everyone is safe. Harry would probably do it on the Quidditch field. It would be special and romantic.

@nathaniemmett.tumbler.com

4) Unpopular Opinions Time! Name a Popular Couple You Can’t Stand.

I can’t stand Bella and Edward from Twilight. The funny thing is that I haven’t read any of the twilight books.

5) What’s Your Favorite and Least Favorite Romance Trope.

I had to look up the meaning of “Romance Trope” and still have no answer.

6) Do You Ship Non-Canon Couples Often? Name Some If You Do.

I had to look up “Non-Canon Couples” I seriously need to learn these XD I don’t read fanfiction so once again, I have no answer.

7)Your Opinion On Love Triangles. Go!

I have no problem with Love Triangles as long as they are done right. Most love triangles drive me nuts though. I guess I’m on the fence with this one!

8) Favorite and Least Favorite Love Triangle.

I’m enjoying Hermia, Lysander and Demetrius in the Midsummer Night’s Dream. We are reading that in school and it’s seriously messed up. It’s more like a love square with Helena.  I don’t like the partial love triangle in Fangirl. It’s between Cath, Levi and Nick.

@Pinterest

9) Sometimes Romance Just Isn’t The Way To Go. Favorite Friendship?

This one is very tough!! I’m going to say.. Leah and Nick from Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda. I can’t gush enough about how much I love their friendship and how the book is going.

10. What’s your favorite scene with your bookish OTP?

This question is too hard to answer…

11. Imagine Your Favorite Book Couple Again. Who’s Most Excited About Valentine’s Day (Either Ironically or Genuinely)

This is definitely a tough one. I’m going to say Harry. He seems like he would take every chance he could to show Ginny how much he loves her.

Oh my gosh, I loved this tag so much! That’s why I tag EVERYONE who wants to participate 🙂

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more book tags!
